Gulf Coast Karters - Katy, TX
Pictures / Results
As I turn my heating pad up a notch, let me tell you about the day we had!  First thing Sunday AM while Garrett was in his first practice session, his gas tank came off.  Yes, the whole tank came off.  Garrett handled it well and came to a slow stop while dad retrieved it from the infield.  I suggested that it was humorous, but no one was laughing but me.

In Heat One, he finished second place and then was penalized for being underweight.  Regulations require that the kart and driver weigh a combined weight of 150 lbs.  We weighed in at 149.5 lbs.

So...in Heat Two we were placed in the back of the pack and started in 6th place.  Garrett battled his way back up to the front and finished in Second Place.

In the final feature, Garrett followed his lines and stayed off the brakes and finished in First Place.  Good Job Garrett!!!
He also broke the track record in practice with a 37.73 and his fastest lap in today's race was a 37.92.

Wish Madison Racing good luck in Austin next weekend for the second race in the Southwest Regional Series.
New graphics for the Southwest Regional Race Pods.  They are awesome!
